Dear Merv, we actually bought 2 of your works when we were stationed at 16 Sigs, the commissioned one was of an owl, which still hangs on my wall. Hubby was Colin ‘the Hump’ Thompson. Sadly he died suddenly in 2000. You would know Paul Robertshaw, Jim Smith and many others. Our son will be attending the R Sigs get-together in Blandford this year. Great to see how well your art career has progressed.
Good day Marion. Thank you for the details regarding your time in Krefeld. I’m so sorry Hump has passed. May he rest in peace.
I’m happy you are a fan and as you can see from my website; I’m still painting Owls, having recently completed the full range of Owls of Canada (15 in total). I’m a bit miffed on how you got my works as I never served in 16 Sigs. I was originally 211 Sig Sqn (11 Armd Bde, Minden) and the next time I was in Germany was my last posting to 14 (EW) Sig Regt (Celle). Then again I was kept quite busy with commissions so no doubt they were during that time.
Thanks for the interest and your nice post. My art career is just a hobby still, with the odd sale; but I’ll never be a Banksie, eh? Enjoy the artwork and god bless. Merv
Hi
I’m x 20 maritime Regt 1967 -74 and I’m interested in print of the LCT’s you painted if there is one available.
